So yesterday I get dressed for the gym. I go to my purse to grab my iPod. I can’t find it. I freak for a second and then remember where it is. It isn’t lost. But it isn’t with me either.
I had no music while on the ellipitical yesterday. That 30 minutes felt a lot longer than 30 minutes. At least I had my trashy celebrity news to read.
But music definitely makes the workout seem a lot easier. I burned fewer calories and didn’t go as fast or as far as I usually do with my tunes.
Just came back from my WW weigh-in (WI) and I lost 1.8 pounds over the week for a total loss of 26 whole pounds! I am so close to my goal. Only 3.6 pounds to go.
I have been doing really well with tracking my food, making good food choices and working out 4-6 times a week. I still don’t love exercising, but I am doing it and that is what counts.
WW is definitely a lifestyle that is manageable. It took me seven years to put on almost 30 pounds and it is gonna take me about seven months to take it off. Not too shabby!
I am going shopping this weekend to buy some new pants. I wanted to wait till I hit goal–but some of my pants are just way too big and I feel weird wearing them at work with the crotch practically to my knees. Plus, I think I deserve some new pants dangit!
So my friend Sue at work asked me if I wanted to go to Starbucks. I said no. Then I decided to go on their Web site and find the nutritional information for the drink I wanted and to make it manageable.
I ordered a tall, nonfat vanilla creme, no whip. The amount of calories and fat in most of these drinks would blow you away. If I ordered a tall, whole milk with whip it woulda been 330 calories and 18 grams of fat. The one I ordered had 180 calories and no fat.
I am a big advocate of Advil or its cheap generic ibuprofen. Great for headaches, cramps, etc.
Well, we have Aleve at work and I took one a bit ago for my knee. It is amazing how much better my knee feels.
I have been taking it easy on the knee. I did the boring stationary bike yesterday with a brace on each knee. My right knee is slightly sore since I have been relying on it more. But today it feels fine. So I am just taking it one day at a time.
I was excited to go to WW today for weigh-in. I was sure I had lost more weight. My pants are even looser this week than last. Curt even said “you look thinner than last week” over IM.
But alas I had lost no weight, but also I had not gained any. So maybe I gained muscle, maybe I was retaining water. Who knows! Even though I know it is a good sign that I didn’t gain any I was still bummed.
And next week I can’t go because I have a lunch to attend.
My friend Alex came over to our hood to hang out and do girl things with me. We had lunch at Oliveto’s.
We shared a salad and a delicious pizza. We also tried a really nice wine. (Lunch was my splurge for the week. I have been pretty on track with eating. And this meal wasn’t too over the top.)
I am already injured. I think I am too old for this exercise stuff.
Anyway, my left knee was bothering me a bit while walking/running yesterday. (But the other day my foot was bothering me and I kept on trucking and it was fine later on.)
After my workout last night my knee was hurtin’ a little. Well, when I woke up this morning it was stiff. It is feeling better now–still bothering me a bit. So no gym workout today. But I will do some walking and stretching this weekend.
So my weight loss had been on a little hiatus recently. I would lose a little, gain a little, lose a little, etc. It was getting frustrating because I wasn’t going anywhere. I reevaluated and decided I needed to start tracking my food again. (And I recently was overindulging in the food dept. Gotta stop that!)
At weigh-in today I was down 2.8 pounds from last week for a total of 22 pounds lost! Just 7.6 pounds to go. I can see the light!!!!
Plus I have been exercising a little more rigorously. Doing more of the walking/running. I am still only averaging about 3 workouts a week. I would like to be at 4 a week. But I am slowly working toward that.
I can’t wait to be able to go shopping soon for some new pants!
I started running. Yesterday.
I had been fast walking for about 4 weeks. So I told myself April was when I started running.
It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I still felt a little akward while running. I am not exactly the most graceful and coordinated person.
But I started out walking for 5 mins. Then I would run for a minute, walk for 2, run for a minute, etc. The last 3 minutes I walked. I was all sweaty and gross. But I felt good afterward.
My goal is to eventually run the whole 30 minutes. Once I am better I will run sans treadmill. There is a beautiful path along the Bay right near work. So eventually I will take my running out there. For now it is the good ol’ treadmill.
I think these last 9 pounds are gonna be a little harder to lose. But I know I can do it.
Curt and I are going to Hawaii in about 10 days and I AM gonna have as many drinks with little umbrellas in them as I want. I still will eat whatever I want–but I won’t stuff myself. So no points in Hawaii–just some wise choices when it comes to some of the things I eat.
I recently started working out, too. I was determined to be toned for Hawaii–ain’t gonna happen. But hey, I am 20 pounds lighter than I was 3 1/2 months ago.
I have been better about my water intake. WW has a honkin mug with a straw and one mug is 4 servings of water. WW recommends 6 servings a day. So I try to have at least 6, but usually go with 8 a day. Problem is I have to go to the bathroom like every 10 minutes it seems! (The link of the mug I found is on eBay. The prices for the mugs on eBay are a total rip-off!)
Off to the bathroom again … (TMI, huh?)
Meet Hungry Girl.
She maintains a blog all about food. She writes about some cool stuff. I just found her today through my Yahoo!
Today I was reading about Little Light Lies, food that says it is light, but it ain’t. She also wrote about healthier options at Fast Food restaurants.
She also linked up to a 1 point fettucine recipe. She gives the nutritional information, which is great for someone like me who is counting points.
