June has been a fun month for me partnering with Athleta.
Turtles Yoga & Wellness, the studio where I teach, partnered with Athleta–Washington Square for June Studio of the Month.
Each Saturday in June a different Turtles teacher taught a free yoga or Pilates class.
I taught on June 11.
I had a great group of students. Many were some of my own students and some were new students.
We practiced Sun Salutes in anticipation of Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day Portland.
Yoga Day Portland
On Tuesday, June 21, it was Summer Solstice. There was a big celebration in Portland’s Pioneer Square.
There were many free yoga classes, vendors, music, dancing, an Athleta fashion show, where I was a model.
The fashion show ended up being so much fun. We put on a fabulous show and looked amazing while modeling and yoga posing.
Here is a video of a small part of the fashion show.
The group of women (pictured to the right) I rehearsed with and hung out with over many Sunday evenings are amazing people. I am sad I won’t be seeing them regularly.
Yoga Day Portland was a great yoga celebration. It was such an … Continue reading

Next weekend I will be partnering up with Athleta.
I will be at Athleta Washington Square next Saturday, Feb. 6 for Mix It Up!
The Mix It Up! event has participants mixing up their workout style in a fitness class mashup — Athleta will be hosting two distinct 30 minute workouts that you might not otherwise put together.
At Athleta Washington Square the mix up will be 30 minutes of yoga with Go Fit Girl! (aka Ann) and 30 minutes of boot camp with Stephanie from Fit Body Boot Camp.
The fitness mashup begins at 9 a.m.
After the two workouts there will be a styling session while getting some pointers on print-mixing. Attend the event for a chance to win a pair of tights.
Feel free to bring friends along with a mat and water bottle and get ready to have some fun.
On Friday and Saturday I had events at the two Athleta stores in Portland.
On Friday I was at Athleta Washington Square for Ask a Yogi with Ann. I was available to answer any questions shoppers had about yoga.
It went OK. It was challenging getting people engaged. I think they thought I was trying to sell them something.
But I had fun and chatted up many women. I even helped some shop and let them know about the great deals going on in the store over the weekend.
On Saturday I was at Athleta Brewery Blocks (in The Pearl) to model a pair of Fit6 pants along with other FitPros (fitness professionals).
I ended up modeling a pair of The Ponte lifestyle pants. I would have never picked these pants out for myself. But I ended up loving them and keeping them.
It was fun greeting shoppers and letting them know about the sales going on. And we got to show them how the pants looked on real women.
I got to spend a few hours with some amazing women. I made some new friends while networking and having a little fun.
Athleta is not the only brand that I wear … Continue reading
And just like that, it’s September.
The month of September is National Yoga Month.
According to Yoga Health Foundation, September is National Yoga Month (a national observance designated by the Department of Health & Human Services) designed to educate about the health benefits of yoga and to inspire a healthy lifestyle.
I am parterning with Athleta in Washington Square in Portland as a YogiFit Pro. I will be at Athleta on Friday, September 18th from noon to 2 p.m. to answer questions about yoga. (I will likely have a little bit more information to share about this event soon.)
According to the site, Athleta is a retail store, which outfits female athletes with the ultimate performance apparel and gear while: Inspiring an active lifestyle. Motivating others. Tapping into our collective power as a group.
The studio I teach at, Turtles Yoga & Wellness, has some fun stuff planned during this month as well.
