I am excited to announce I will be teaching a special yoga class at Turtles Yoga & Wellness on Thanksgiving morning, which is two weeks away.
My class titled: Celebrate Being Grateful is from 9-10:30 a.m.
Join me on Thanksgiving morning for a yoga class where we practice gratitude while recognizing how blessed we are in this life.
We will come together for a Hatha alignment-based practice as we move mindfully while breathing deeply.
We will explore yoga poses that aid in digestion.
We will also open our hearts with some supportive Restorative Yoga poses to end our class.
When I still lived in Oakland I absolutely loved that the yoga studio(s) I regularly attended hosted Thanksgiving morning yoga classes. What a beautiful way to start the day and prepare us for what I call Crazy Time (end of the year and holiday season).
My teaching schedule around the holiday is slightly modified.
On Wednesday, Nov. 25 (day before Thanksgiving) my cycle class is canceled. But my 8 p.m. yoga class is still scheduled.
On Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) I will have a sub for my morning cycle class. I will be teaching my special yoga class at Turtles that … Continue reading
I asked my readers for ideas for the November Monthly Challenge. I got a lot of great ideas and used them.
I saved one idea for Go Fit Girl’s December Monthly Challenge.
We’ll get to that shortly.
December is a tough month for me and for many others as well. We are so busy with the end of the year at work, with the holidays, travel, extra tasks, multiple parties, certain expectations, many pressures.
Be kind to yourself this month. Let’s not forget the post I wrote in August titled, Do you want to be happy? Make sure to take care of yourself during this hectic, stressful over the top time.
Exercise: Exercise of any kind is important all year round. But it is really important when under stress. Try to exercise at least three times a week, but more is better. Go for a walk, catch a yoga class, take Zumba. Whatever you like to do do it. Make sure to make time for yourself. You can do as little as 15 minutes. It doesn’t have to be a full exercise regime to alter your mood.
Nutrition: We can probably guarantee any diet or healthy way of eating we … Continue reading
Ah, the holidays are upon us.
Tomorrow is the unofficial launch of the holiday season.
I heard on the radio this morning that tonight is the busiest night for bars.
I searched on Google to find more information about this. Many cities did stories on it. The one I decided to open came from Tucson, my hometown, and said: Traditionally when Thanksgiving comes around our family and old friends are around and we tend to want to go out and celebrate or just have a good time. Most are on holiday or off of work by some means.
For many this season is not filled with joy or fun or good times. It can be stressful, exhausting, unhappy …
I do love this time of year. I love having a tree and seeing the lights and just the feelings I get from it. I didn’t used to love it. I used to work retail and then I worked in newspapers, where there is no such thing as a holiday. News happens 24/7.
Curt and I are staying home for Thanksgiving. Our friends Jim and Jennifer, who usually join us, just moved to Indiana. Our friends Jacob and Aileen are in … Continue reading
